WELCOME DR. Claire Haycox, MD BOARD CERTIFIED DERMATOLOGIST

Dr. Claire Haycox grew up in England. She came to the United States in 1980 and completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Washington in 1986. She then went on to do her combined MD/PhD, with her doctorate in Bioengineering also at the UW. After that came her internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, before returning to the UW for her dermatology residency. After completion of her residency and on becoming a fellow of the American Board of Dermatology she stayed on as a faculty member at The University of Washington Medical Center for several years.
In 1995 she founded Valley Dermatology in Sequim WA where she practiced for 19 years before retiring from full-time practice in 2014. Dr. Haycox now enjoys a part-time Locums Tenens practice, covering for dermatologists who are in need of vacation or medical leave. It is a great way for her to meet new patients and to help her friends and colleagues get quality coverage allowing them to take much needed time away from their busy practices.
Dr. Haycox enjoys general dermatology and meeting people at all stages of their life. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of skin cancers, including melanoma. She performs Mohs micrographic surgery. She also has a special interest in hair loss and hair disorders in men, women and children. In her free time Dr. Haycox enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and knitting. She has a home in Mexico where she loves the people, land and climate.
